Coin of Haidar Dughlat Sold For INR 10,000

Haidar Dughlat had ruled Kashmir from AH 953-957; AD 1546-1550. Dughlat belonged to the Mongol tribe. They are mentioned as having the support of Genghis Khan during the creation of the Mongol Empire in the early 13th century AD. Rashid Al-Din Hamadani had identified Dughlats as the minor tribe of Mongol.Mirza Muhammad Haidar Dughlat was the son of Muhammad Husain Kurkan. Haidar Dughlat did not issue any coin in his own name; he issued his coin in the name of Mughal Emperor Humayun in gold and silver. His gold coins do not contain mint name and date, But the Shahada with the name of four Caliphs name is seen on the reverse. Whereas his silver coin contains mint name and date on the reverse.
One of his silver Sasnu, minted in Kashmir, which weighs around 5.6g, was sold for INR 10,000 at todywalla Auction held in Kolkata on 29th December 2012. The obverse of the coin is read as “Al-Sultan Al-Azam Muhammad Humayun Ghazi” and the reverse of the coin reads as “Zarb Kashmir" within square and date in the margin.
