Mongolian Banknote Features Tiny House or Yurt
2016-12-12 Mon
Mongolians were the ones who invented the concept of the modern-day “tiny house”, thousands of years ago. These are portable round tents traditionally called a yurt, covered with skins and used by nomads on the steppes of Central Asia. Mongolia’s 500-tugrik note features this kind of a house. These houses are portable and can be moved from place to place, perfect for leading a nomadic lifestyle. Mongolia was the home of Genghis Khan and the 500-tugrik note features the ox-drawn yurt on its reverse. These houses are cheap, easy to build and are pulled by about 24 oxen from one location to the other.
