Kid Finds 18th Century British Queen Anne “Vigo” 5-guinea Gold Coin Worth £200,000 in his Toy Chest

On 23rd October, it was announced that the British Queen Anne “Vigo” 5-guinea gold coin will be offered by Boningtons Fine Art Auctioneers at an estimated value of £200,000 to £250,000 on 16th November. The coin was found in a child’s “pirate treasure” toy chest. The gold coin was captured by the British from an 18th-century Spanish treasure ship in Vigo Bay on 23rd October 1702.The coin’s owner got a bag full of old coins that were collected by his grandfather who travelled all over the world during his working days. After his grandfather passed away, he took a closer look at the coins and that’s when he discovered this beauty. He gave the coins to his son who put it safely in his own treasure box.
