New $10 Bahamas Note as First in the CRISP Evolution Family

On 26th September, The Central Bank of Bahamas announced that it has released a new a $10 note which belongs to the CRISP Evolution family. The note is blue in colour, with shades of green and pink.The obverse features a picture of Sir Stafford Sands, the former finance minister who promoted tourism in the country. It also bears a watermark of Sands with the numeral $10, a replica map of the Bahamas, the denomination in words and numbers and a yellow elder flower. The reverse features a Hope Town Lighthouse and Abaco Island along with two flamingos.
CRISP or “Counterfeit Resistant Integrated Security Product,” and was first used in 2005. Officials believe that the general public will soon appreciate the history, innovation, and national symbols on the new notes. Other notes in the series will be released one at a time.
