Mahmud Shah II, the last ruler of the Malwa Sultanate, ruled from 1511 CE to 1516 CE. His reign is known for his efforts to maintain Malwa's independence against Bahadur Shah of Gujarat, who ultimately conquered Mandu in 1531, bringing an end to Mahmud Shah II's rule and annexing Malwa.Malwa Sultan Mahmud Shah II issued a Silver quarter tanka weighing 2.6g. The obverse reads 'Mahmud Shah Khalji bin Nasir Shah' and the reverse reads as 'Al-Kabriya lilllah.'
