Copper Falus of Malwa Sultan Mahmud Shah II

In copper, Malwa Sultan Mahmud Shah issued falus, half-falus, and quarter-falus coins.The copper falus issued by Mahmud Shah falls into three main types, differentiated by their weight standards. From Hijri years 917–918, the weight of the copper falus was approximately 10–10.2 g. Later, from Hijri years 919–920, the weight was reduced to around 8.8 g. From Hijri years 921–938, it was further reduced to 7.8–8.4 g.
The obverse bears the legend 'Mahmud Shah al-Khalji bin Nasir Shah', and the reverse bears the legend 'al-Sultan bin al-Sultan.'
