Malwa Sultan Mahmud Shah II issued silver tankas in two shapes: circular and square. He issued square tankas in two different varieties, based on variations in the arrangement of the legends.This silver square tanka weighs approximately 10.5–11 g. The obverse bears the legend "Al-Wathiq bi'l-Malik al-Samad Abu'l-Muzaffar Mahmud Shah", and the reverse bears the legend "Bin Nasir Shah al-Khalji al-Sultan khallada mulkahu" Hijri Date 922 at the bottom.
