India Post issued a commemorative postage stamp of denomination ?5 to celebrate 125 years of the #kodaikanalsolarobservatory on May 16, 2025.

Kodaikanal Solar Observatory, established in 1899, is owned by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics. It is on the southern tip of the Palani Hills, approximately 4 km from Kodaikanal. It has played a crucial role in advancing our understanding of solar activity and its impact on Earth's climate and space weather.

The Kodaikanal Solar Observatory helps us understand the link between solar activity and monsoons.
