India Post issued a commemorative postage stamp of denomination ?5 to celebrate 125 years of the #kodaikanalsolarobservatory on May 16, 2025.Kodaikanal Solar Observatory, established in 1899, is owned by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics. It is on the southern tip of the Palani Hills, approximately 4 km from Kodaikanal. It has played a crucial role in advancing our understanding of solar activity and its impact on Earth's climate and space weather.
