A 1/8 rupee of Tipu Sultan, or Jafari, weighs approximately 1.2 grams. Tipu Sultan minted 1/8 rupees at Seringapatam (Pattan) from Mauludi year 1218 to 1226. The obverse bears the legend "Muhammad Zarb Pattan Sanah and Mauludi year". The reverse bears the inscription "Jafari Sanah Julus and Regnal year".-
