Bhagwan Mahavira was born in the early 6th century BCE to Queen Trishala and King Siddhartha and was named Vardhaman. Before his birth, Queen Trishala had 16 auspicious dreams, which were interpreted as a sign that the child would become a spiritual leader. Vardhaman Mahavir in his childhood enjoyed all the comforts and privileges of being born into a royal family. But at the age of 30, he renounced all material possessions and left his family to pursue spiritual awakening, embracing an ascetic life. After twelve and a half years of rigorous austerities and deep meditation, he attained Kevala Jnana (omniscience). In the sixth century BCE, after 30 years of preaching, he achieved moksha. Mahavir Jayanti, also known as Mahavira Janma Kalyanaka, is an important festival for Jains, commemorating the birth of Bhagwan Mahavir, the 24th Tirthankara. It is observed on the 13th day of Chaitra in the Hindu calendar, typically falling in March or April. This year marks the 2623rd anniversary of Lord Mahavir’s birth. Mahavir Jayanti is marked by temple visits, prayers, chanting, and acts of charity that exemplify Mahavir’s teachings. #mintageworld #coins #numismatics #mahaveerjayanti #mahavirjayanti #mahaveerbhagwanLatest News
