The Government of India issued a Rs 150 commemorative coin honouring Birsa Munda, a tribal freedom fighter and folk hero from the Munda Tribe, to celebrate his 150th birth anniversary on November 15, 2024.Birsa Munda fought bravely against the British colonial system and led the movement against British repression, calling for 'Ulgulan' (revolution). He collected his army of tribals and began distributing awareness to expose the British intentions. In response, the soldiers organized demonstrations and movements against the British Raj's betrayal and injustice.
