Arunachal Pradesh Foundation Day

Thu

Arunachal Pradesh is a state in northeastern India. Initially known as the North-East Frontier Tract (NEFT) in the late 19th century, it became the North-East Frontier Agency after the Regulation Act of 1954. In 1965, the administration passed to the Ministry of Home Affairs, which oversaw the region until 1972, when it achieved union territory status.

On February 20, 1987, Arunachal Pradesh became a full-fledged state and became part of India after the 53rd Amendment of the Indian Constitution in 1986.

Arunachal Pradesh, a land of the rising sun, lies at the edge of the Himalayas and is proud to be called the land of dawn and lit mountains.

India Post issued a postage stamp to Commemorate 50 years of Arunachal Pradesh in 2022.
