Swami Dayanand Saraswati was born on February 12, 1824, in Tankara, Gujarat. He was a key social reformer and religious leader who founded the Arya Samaj in 1875, advocating for Vedic principles and addressing issues like caste discrimination, child marriage, and womens education.His philosophy focused on monotheism, the authority of the Vedas, and rational thought over superstition.
India Post issued a postage stamp to commemorate his 200th Birth Anniversary on 15th December 2024 to celebrate his contributions ineducational reform, especially through the Dayanand Anglo Vedic (DAV) schools, continue influencing Indian society's cultural and spiritual awakening.
His call for "Back to the Vedas" is a significant part of the discourse on Indian identity and reform.
