The Tansen Samaroh, or Tansen Music Festival, began in 1924 to honor the legendary musician Tansen from the Mughal era.Held annually in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, where Tansen lived, the festival celebrates Hindustani Classical Music with performances from renowned artists.
India Post issued a commemorative postage stamp in 2024, to mark its centenary, celebrating 100 years of Indian Classical Music.
