Tipu Sultan’s Rare Silver Half-Rupee minted in Patan sold for INR 1,20,000.

A rare silver Half-Rupee, also known as Adbdi, from the reign of Mysore king Tipu Sultan, was sold for INR 1,20,000 at an auction held in Bengaluru on July 12, 2024. This coin was minted in Patan in the Mauludi year 1217, during the 7th regnal year of Tipu Sultan. The silver rupee is embellished with rosettes in the field on both sides. The Obverse features the legend Muhammad Ahmad Din Dar Jahan Ast Raushan Ze Fatah Haider He Abedi Zarb Pattan Saal Sarab Sanah 1217. The reverse is inscribed with Huwa As-Sultan Al-Waheed Al-Adil Tarikh-I-Julus Saal Sakh Seum Bahari Sanah 7 Julu.Latest News
