Mughal Emperor Jahangir Silver Rupee

Mirza Nuruddin Beig Mohammed Khan Salim, well-known by his imperial name Salim or Jahangir, was the fourth Mughal Emperor. He ruled from 1605 until he died in 1627, He reigned for 22 years.During his reign, East India Company got permission to set up business in India. Jahangir is known for the beautiful and vast variety of coinage issued during his lifetime. This silver rupee weighing 11.32g, was minted at Agra and is part of many types of Rupees and Mohurs minted at Agra.
Obverse is inscribed asFarsi inscription Noor ud din Jahangir Shah Akbar Shah. The reverse is inscribed as Farsi inscription Zarb Agra, Sanah 1024/RY 10, ilahi mah Azar.
