Portuguese India, or Estado Português da Índia, was the name of the Portuguese Empire's colonial state in the Indian Subcontinent that had a major impact on Indian history. The Portuguese were the last Europeans to leave India and the first to arrive there.

The renowned explorer Vasco De Gama arrived in India in 1498 and was the first Portuguese person to set foot on the continent.

Indo-Portuguese issued this silver Rupia weighing 10.5g minted at Goa in 1784.

The obverse of this silver Rupia features Conjoined busts of the king Pedro III and Queen Maria I facing right, mint name Goa behind and date 1784 below. The reverse of this coin features crowned arms.
