Mirza Nuruddin Beig Mohammed Khan Salim also known by his imperial name Salim or Jahangir. He was the most generous supporter of fine arts, Jahangir was the fourth Mughal emperor, reigning from 1605 until 1627.An extremely rare gold mohur (10.25g) of Mughal Emperor Jahangir, minted at Agra, was sold for INR 12,00,000 at an auction held in Kolkatta on December 23, 2023.
The obverse of the coin is inscribed with the Persian legend Nur-ud-din Jahangir Shah Akbar Shah. The reverse of this coin is inscribed as Zarb Agra; Sanah 1022; Ilahi mah Tir 8, dotted border and floral design on both sides.
