Thoothukudi/Tuticorin, is a port city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu that lies on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal.The Portuguese were the first to arrive in Thoothukudi in 1532 CE, followed by the Dutch in 1658 CE.
Indo-Dutch 'Kali/Ranga' type gold fanam, 0.34g, minted at Tuticorin. Obverse features corrupt Kali design, and the reverse features Shri Ranga Raya' in crude letters.
