On this day in 1970, the computer mouse patent was granted to Douglas Engelbart, who had applied for it in 1967.The original design consisted of two metal wheels and a wooden shell, invented at Stanford Research Institute now known as SRI International.
Today, the computer mouse is an essential accessory in the modern age.
