The Reserve Bank of India issued banknotes of Rs. 1000 denomination in the Mahatma Gandhi series, showcasing his portrait in the watermark and Dr. Bimal Jalan's signature as the RBI Governor.The note's dimensions are 177 mm x 73 mm. It is printed using offset and intaglio. This note was later withdrawn from circulation on November 8, 2016.
