The Punch Marked Coins (PMCs), dated between the 6th- 4th century BCE, are considered the earliest coins of the Indian subcontinent.Silver Vimshatika standard coin attributed to Ayodhya Janapada , the obverse of the coins features six curves around a bold dot and a side punch of a bull.
This silver Vimshatika coin of Ayodhya Janapada was sold for INR 1,60,000 in an auction of Classical Numismatic Galley held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on 19 August 2023.
