Akbar Copper Dam, Ajmer Mint

Ajmer is one of the major and oldest cities of India located in Rajasthan founded by Chahamana ruler Ajayadeva. The city of Ajmer was established by king Ajayameru of Chahamana dynasty. Surprisingly, Ajmer played an important role in Indian history. Prithiviraj Chauhan ruled this place until he defeated in 1192 CE.In 1193, the city was annexed by the Ghurids and later was returned to Rajput rulers under the condition of tribute and it came under the rule of Mughal Emperor Akbar.
Ajmer was one of the 12 Subah of Akbar's Mughal Empire. Akbar visited this place annually to pay pilgrimages to the city to visit the dargah of Moinuddin Chishti.
The copper Dam of 20.22g was issued by Akbar during his rule in the Hijri year 962.
