Muhammad Bin Farid was the third ruler of the Sayyid dynasty who ruled the Dehli Sultanate between 1434 and 1445 AD. The Sayyid dynasty was the fourth dynasty that ruled Delhi Sultanate, from 1414 to 1451. They were obedient to Timur’s successor, Shah Rukh.
This extremely rare gold tanka of Muhammad Bin Farid weighs around 11.14g and was sold for INR 100000 in an auction of Oswal Antiques held in Mumbai on April 1, 2023. The obverse side of this coin is inscribed as “Al Sultan Al A’zam Abu’l Muhamid Muhammad Shah Bin Farid Shah Hadrat Shah Al Sultan”. The reverse side of this coin is inscribed as “Fi Zaman Al Imam Amir Al-Mu minin Khulidat Khilafatuhu”.
