Holi Aai Re…. Rang Barse.

One of the major festivals in India, Holi is celebrated on the full moon day of the Indian month Falgun. Holi is harbinger of spring season. It is a festival of spring and love, the fest lasts for a night and a day.

The evening is marked with Holika Dahan and the next days is observed as Rang Panchami, with various names across the length and breadth of India - "Dol Purnima", "Dhuleti", "Dhulandi", "Ukuli", "Manjal Kuli", "Yaosang", "Shigmo", "Phagwah", "Jajiri" and many fore.

In the Braj region, Holi is celebrated as Rang Panchami in commemoration of divine love of Radha and Krishna….

Holi Aayi re Kanhai Rang Chhalke Suna de Jara Bansuri.

A stamp was issued in 1969. Holi depicts on the stamp of Guyana. The face value of 6, 25, 30 and 40 cents, the stamps depict Lord Krishna celebrating the festival of colours with gopikas. It is a set of four stamp features festival of India.
