Sant Santaji Jagnade Maharaj was a prominent Marathi saint. He was one of the 14 cymbal players employed by Shri Tukaram Maharaja.Sant Santaji Jagnade was born on 8th December 1624 in the Jagannade family to Shri Vithoba Pant and Mathubai in Chakan Village, near Dehu, in Khed tehsil of Pune District, Maharashtra. Both his parents were a pious, dutiful, and God-loving couple, so since childhood, the atmosphere of his house was spiritual and religious. The Jagnade family was the devotee of the god Vitthal.
Sant Santaji Jagnade is well known for his abhangas, the abhangas composed by him called the fifth Vedas. Santaji’s Abhangs have glorified verses which illustrate his literary skills and talents.
India Post issued a commemorative stamp on Sant Santaji Jagnade Maharaj in 2009 to commemorate him.
