This one Brazilian Real banknote was one of eight distinct denominations of Brazilian Real printed by the Banco Central de Brasil. They belong to the series of removed Brazilian Real banknotes. These 1 Brazilian Real notes were first printed in 1994 by the Banco Central de Brasil. They were taken off the market in 2003.The sapphire-spangled emerald, a hummingbird that is native to areas of Brazil, Venezuela, Bolivia, and Peru, is shown on these green R $1 Brazilian real notes. The head of the Republic, known in Brazil as "Efgie da Repblica," is shown on the reverse side of the one real note.
