1 Lev - Bulgarian Banknote

On July 5, 1999, Bulgaria issued a 1 Lev banknote as part of the 1999-2020 issue, with the themes of famous people, religion, and saints as well as churches, cathedrals, basilicas, and chapels. The Sofia BNB Printing Works produced the banknote.A 1789 icon of St. Ivan Rilski from the Uspenie Bogorodichno church, which is close to the Rila Monastery, is depicted on the banknote's reverse. The Rila Monastery Church, is shown on the banknote's reverse side, and an anti-copy stripe with rhomboid motifs surrounds it.
The 1 Lev Banknote has a triangle and circle embossed for the Visually Impaired to identify the Banknote, with a halftone watermark image of a Rampant Lion.
