The Banco Central do Brasil issued this 1000 Brazilian Cruzeiros Reais banknote in 1993. These banknotes are the parts of the Brazilian Cruzeiro Real banknotes series, issued in five different denominations.

The front side of this bank features the picture of Writer Anisio Teixeira. Anisio Spinola Teixeira was a Brazilian educator, jurist, and writer. He was one of the reformers of Brazilian education in the early 20th century. He was one of the co-founders of the University of the Federal District; in 1935 and the University of Brasília in 1960. The reverse side of this banknote features a group of children in school uniforms.

This banknote was issued in 1993 and is still in circulation.
