Commemorative stamp of Acharya Vimal Sagar

In the Uttar Pradesh district of Etah, in the little village of Kosma, Acharya Vimal Sagar was born on September 18, 1916. He was given a loving name as a newborn in the family in honour of the Teerthankar Neminath, and the family named him "Nemichandra" with fondness. He was well-versed in the Indian Traditional Medicine System from an early age and well-respected in neighbouring communities for his healing prowess.Numerous books by Acharya Vimal Sagar have been written; among these are the treasured Jinsahasrnam Stotra and Siddhchakara Vidhan in Sanskrit. The entire Jain Samaj held Acharya Shree 108, Vimal Sagar Jee, in high regard. At Teerthadiraj Sammedsikhar Jee in Jharkhand, Acharya Shree Vimal Sagar Jee reached samadhi on December 29, 1994.
The Department of Posts released a commemorative stamp honouring Indian monk Jain Muni Acharya Shri 108 Vimalsagar Ji Maharaj, a member of the influential school of Jainism known as Digambara Sampradaya.
