Commemorative Stamp of Jhalla Manna

Jhalla Mewar was a Mewar nobleman from the Rajput clan of Bari Sadri. Maharana Raimal bestowed the Bari Sadri jagir on Jhalla Manna's forefathers, Shri Ajja and Shri Sajja Jhallas of Bari Sadri retained the distinction of stepping in for their ruler whenever the occasion arose.Before the battle of Haldighati, Jhalla Manna was a member of Maharana Pratap Singh's military council in Gogunda (1576). When Chetak was wounded in the battle and Maharana Pratap was forced to retreat from the field, Jhalla Manna donned the Maharana's uniform and assumed command of the Mewar soldiers. He was killed during the continuing combat.
On the Rajarana Sardar Jhalla, the Department of Posts produced a commemorative postage stamp. Manna Singh, a Mewar army trooper, saved Maharana Pratap at the Battle of Haldighati against Mughal emperor Akbar.
