Commemorative Stamp of Dattopant Thengadi

Dattopant Thengadi was a Nationalist Trade Union leader of India and the founder of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, Swadeshi Jagran Manch and also Bhartiya Kisan Union.Dattopant Thengadi was a stern supporter and foremost idealist of "swadeshi economics". He was born on 10th November 1920 on the day of Diwali, in the village of Arvi, in the Wardha district of Maharashtra. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha from Bharatiya Jana Sangh for two terms and always left his indelible imprint on all the tasks he handled as a parliamentarian. Thengadi showed his leadership capabilities by organizing the anti-Emergency movement in 1975, by way of bringing together various political streams.
India Post released the stamp commemorating Dattopant Thengadi on his birth anniversary on 10th November 2021.
