Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose, also known as J.C. Bose, was one of the most prominent scientists having a unique place in Indian history.
Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose was the pioneer of plant physiology and radio technology and the first Indian scientist to prove that plants have a feeling. He is the father of radio science; he was the first to discover wireless transmission of electromagnetic waves after returning to India in 1885. He was the world leader in telecommunication. In 1904, Bose was awarded a patent for inventing a detector for electrical disturbances.
The Government of India issued his commemorative stamp in 1958 to commemorate him and his work.
