Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata was an Indian aviator, industralist, entreprenuer and chairman of Tata Group. He was born on July 29 1904 to noted bussinessman Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata and Suzanne Briere.
J.R.D Tata was the first person in India to own a flying licence, certified on 10 February 1929 and became known as father of Indian civil aviation. He launched Air India Internatilnal as India's first international airline in 1948. J.R.D Tata was appointed as Chairman of Air India and director on the Board of Indian Airlines-a position in 1953 by Government of India.
The Government of India issued his commemorative stamp in 2009 to commemorate him and his work.
