2022-11-16 Wed

The first postal service was established in 1880. Chulalongkorn was the fifth king of Siam under the House of Chakri, titled Rama V. He was known to the Siamese of his time as Phra Phuttha Chao Luang.

The solot series was the first series issued by Siam on 4 august 1883. The stamp was printed by Waterlow and Sons in London; they launched in Siam postal services. The notability of stamps was first issued in Thailand. One solot series stamp depicted king Chulalongkorn in profile, facing the frame’s left neither it was marked nor shown the country name or its value in the international script. It is only a series that refers to each of the oldest currency units. The stamp of one solot is one-sixteenth of a fueang.
