Commemorative Stamp of Johannes Kepler

Johannes Kepler was a great astronomer, astrologer, natural philosopher and writer of music. He was born on 27 December 1571; in Germany. Kepler is well known for his Laws of Planetary Motion and compostion of his books such as Astronomia nova, Harmonice Mundi, and Epitome Astronomiae Copernicanae.

Johannes Kepler had also worked as one of the foundations for Newton’s theory of Universal Gravitation. He is an important person, in the Scientific Revolution, which took place in the 17th century.

Johannes Kepler worked in several of Mathematics, Astrology, Astronomy, Philosophy, and Physics; he even had done some work in the field of optics and has been mentioned in the telescope discoveries of his contemporary Galileo Galilei.

Kepler went to Regensburg; in the hope of collecting interest on work he had done before in October 1630. He fell sick and progressively his health deteriorated and on the 15th of November he died.

The above-given stamp is a commemorative stamp was issued North Korea; on 25 August 1980, commemorate his 350th death anniversary.
