The swimmer Gustavo Borges won a silver medal in men’s 100-meter freestyle. The judoka Rogerio Sampaio won the gold medal in the men's 65 kg category. For the first time ever, Brazil men’s volleyball team won a first gold medal. The team won all eight matches of the tournament.
