Ganesh Vasudeo Mavalankar, also known as Dadasaheb, was an independent activist and the first speaker of Loksabha. He served India as the president of the Central Legislative Assembly, speaker of the Constituent Assembly of India, and the first speaker of the Lok Sabha.
Ganesh Vasudeo Mavalankar was born in a Marathi family but lived and worked in Ahmedabad, the former capital of Gujarat. He completed his graduation from Government Law School, Bombay, in 1912. He actively participated in Non-Cooperation Movement and Salt Satyagraha. He is titled; as 'Father of the Lok Sabha and conferred by none other than Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru.
