Aatukuri Molla was a Telugu poet considered one of the greatest poets in Telugu literature. She wrote Telugu-language Ramayana; she was the first person who wrote Ramayana in Telugu. The Ramayana, written by Aatukuri Molla, is very popular among the masses because it is in a simple and beautiful language. Aatukuri Molla Ramayana contains 870 poems and prose.Aatukuri Molla abridged and adapted the Sanskrit Valmiki Ramayana into Telugu. Molla’s Telugu Ramayanam is an element of daily life in Telugu-speaking areas even today. She uses the Telugu language as a primary language and uses Sanskrit words very rarely. Poems composed by Aatukuri Molla; are sung wherever Telugu is spoken throughout the country.
