Here, we present a 10 Rupees note of 1992 bearing the signature of S. Venkitaramanan with inset letter A. Serial number and prefix letters (A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H) may vary from image. The note is uncirculated type.Sri Venkitaramanan was the eighteenth Governor of the Reserve Bank of India and served as Finance Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, from 1985 to 1989. He is seen by many as a brilliant crisis manager. He has published the 3 books with the same name but in different volumes, ‘Indian Economy: Reviews and Commentaries - Vol I, Vol II and Vol III’.
The early notes of the Bank of Bengal were printed only on one side and were issued as one gold mohur and in denominations of Rs. 100, Rs. 250, Rs. 500, etc.
