Ram Nath Chopra was born on 17th August 1882, in Gujranwala, Punjab Provinces, British India. His father, Raghu Nath, was a government official. He completed his schooling at a local School. In 1905, he completed Natural Sciences Tripos and was admitted to BA. In 1908, he received B. Chir and in in 1909 he received in 1909. He worked under Walter E. Dixon, a professor of the newly established position in pharmacology. He was inspired by the experimental approaches in pharmacology.Ram Nath Chopra was an Indian Medical Service officer. He is considered as 'Father of Pharmacology' for the service he provided pharmaceuticals. In 1921, he established his research laboratory at Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine, where he worked as a professor of pharmacology.
