Kushan Empire Gold Coin on Stamp

Kushan Empire was probably one of five branches of the Yuezhi confederation. They are known as Guishuang in Chinese sources. Kujula Kadphises founded this empire during the 1st Century CE. The rise of the Kushan Empire was an important landmark in the history of Central Asia. Under the rule of the Kushans, northwest India and adjoining regions participated in seagoing trade and in commerce along the Silk Road to China.The ruler of the Kushan Empire extended their region to the modern-day territory of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and northern India. The Kushan Empire used the Greek language for administrative purposes, but later, they also use the Bactrian language.
The government of India issued this commemorative stamp that depicts the gold coin of the Kushan Empire in 1978.
