Ferenc Rakoczi II on 500 Hungarian Forints banknote

Ferenc Rakoczi II, the hero of Hungary, was depicted in 500 Hungarian Forints banknote in 1998.Ferenc Rakoczi II was the richest landlord in the Kingdom of Hungary. He was a Hungarian nobleman and leader in the uprising of Hungary against the Habsburg between 1703 and 1711. He was the prince of Estates Confederated for Liberty of the Kingdom of Hungary, Prince of Transylvania, an Imperial Prince, and a member of the Order of the Golden Fleece.
The Hungarian National Bank issued Hungarian Forint banknotes depicting him seven different denominations. These notes are part of the current Hungarian Forint banknotes series, and are still in circulation.
