Meghnad Saha was a great Indian scientist; he was an Indian astrophysicist who developed the Saha ionization equation. He describes the chemical and physical conditions of stars. Today, his work helps astronomers relate the accuracy of spectral classes of stars to their actual temperatures. He is remembered for his remarkable contribution to the field of Astrophysics.He was elected to the Parliament of India in 1952 from Kolkata. He is a leading spirit in organizing scientific societies like the Indian Institute of Science, the National Academy of Science, and the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science. The government of India issued this commemorative stamp in the year 1993 to commemorate him and his work.
