The 5 oz “Dragon and His Nine Sons” High Relief five 99.9% Pure Silver Proof Coin has been released by the Perth Mint. What makes this coin unique is its thickness of 12.50 mm. The mintage of the coin is limited to 1,000 pieces and can be purchased for $453.64 AUD.The reverse depicts the dragon with his nine sons in high relief. The dragon stands for good luck in Chinese mythology, and his sons each portray different elements of the Chinese culture. Other inscription includes ‘DRAGON & HIS NINE SONS’.
The obverse features the common Queen Elizabeth II portrait, with the inscriptions ‘QUEEN ELIZABETH II’, ‘5 OZ 999 SILVER’, ‘2016’, ‘5 DOLLARS’, and ‘TUVALU’, the issuing country.
The coin comes in a special packaging with a certificate of authenticity.
