Jairamdas Doulatram was an Indian Political leader in the Indian independence movement. He served India as a Governor of Indian States like Bihar and Assam.Jairamdas Doulatram was a noble and highly respected leader of India. He joined the Congress party at a very young age; later he got elected to the Bombay Legislative Council. Between 1935 and 1938, he got appointed as a member of various Committees and Sub-Committees on labor rights and issues.
Jairamdas Doulatram was closely associated with Mahatma Gandhi. At the request of Mahatma Gandhi, he became a member of the Boycott Committee and traveled to several different provinces to convince local administrations to support the boycott.
This commemorative stamp was issued by the Indian government in 1985; to commemorate him and his work.
