He served the United States of America as president between 1869 and 1877.Ulysses S. Grant is best known as a Union general who led the United States to victory over the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War. He is remembered for his remarkable talent, as a soldier and for leadership, which saved his country from falling apart.
Ulysses S. Grant after getting elected as a president of the United States of America created Justice Department for effective civil rights. He also worked with Radical Republicans to protect African Americans during Reconstruction.
