Mukhtar Ahmed Ansari Commemorative Stamp

Mukhtar Ahmed Ansari was an Indian nationalist and political leader and a former president of the Indian National Congress and Muslim League during the Indian Independence Movement. He was one of the founders of Jamia Millia Islamia University and remained his chancellor between 1928 and 1936.Mukhtar Ahmed Ansari was involved in the Indian Independence Movement. He was a member of the Indian Congress and the Muslim League and played a vital role in the 1916 Lucknow pact. Mukhtar Ahmed Ansari had also served as president of the Muslim Leagues between 1918 and 1920.
The commemorative stamp was issued by the Indian government to honour him in 1980.
