Skandagupta Gold Dinara Listed For INR 9,00,000

Skandagupta was the ruler of the Gupta Empire; he ruled the Gupta Empire between 455 CE and 467 CE.Skandagupta was the son of Gupta Emperor Kumargupta I. After sitting on the throne of the Gupta Empire, he issued five types of gold coins (Archer type, King and queen type, Chhatra type, Lion-slayer type and Horseman type) and four types of silver coins (Garuda type, Bull type, Altar type and Madhyadesha type).
This gold Dinara, which weighs around 8.06g, was issued by Skandagupta during his rule in Gupta Empire. The obverse side of this coin depicts a standing king facing towards the left, holding a bow in one hand and the other hand resting on his hip while holding an arrow, Queen standing to the right side of the king, holding an object in one hand and lotus on another hand. Garuda Standard between the king and Goddess Lakshmi, with Brahmi legend Jayati Mahi...(Skandagupta) Sudhnavi. The reverse side of the coin depicts the Goddess Lakshmi seated on Lotus, holding long-stemmed flower in her left hand, noose in her right hand with Brahmi legend Sri Skandaguptah in the right field and Tamga in the left field.
This gold dinar is listed for INR 9,00,000 in the upcoming auction the Todywalla Auction that will be held in Mumbai on April 23, 2022.
