The theme for the annual stamp issues of SEPAC- the small European Post Administration co-operation is the artwork in the national collection. The Malta post released two great themes that feature artwork by Edward Caruana Dingli-one of Malta's foremost painters of the early 20th century. The original painting is exhibited at MUZA the national Community Art Museum of Malta.
The first stamp depicts wearing he ‘ghonnella’- a former women's headdress and a shawl or hooded clock unique to the Mediterranean islands of Malta and Gozo. It was generally made of cotton or silk. The second stamp features the annual procession of corpus Christi as it snakes past the facade of St John’s Co-Cathedral in valley. Sombre in intent ye festival in spirit, the artist captured the movement in time.
